In the first of many to come, the already critically acclaimed film A STAR IS BORN picked up its first major award this weekend. The film won the Smithers Foundation Award which is awarded by the International Council of Film and Television at UNESCO and the Observatory on Cultural Communication at U.N.
This is one of the Collateral Awards at the Venice Film Festival which are “Independently awarded by associations of film critics, clubs and cultural associations, and cinema professionals.”
