Lady Gaga graced the Grammys red carpet for the first time in a custom-made Giorgio Armani Prive dress. Gaga also picked up her first two awards for Best Dance Recording (Poker Face) and Best Electronic/Dance Album (The Fame).
This marked the beginning of a special Lady Gaga x Grammy relationship.
The first performance
The night Gaga picked up her first two awards; she also graced the stage for the first time. Gaga performed a medley of Poker Face and Speechless/ Your Song featuring her longtime idol Elton John.
This performance also introduced the elite music crowd to Lady Gaga. Gaga held nothing back as she featured big theatrics, flashy outfits, electric choreography and topped it all off with her signature piano acoustic segments. It seems as if Gaga had one mission to accomplish through this performance: to forever turn the eyes of the world on her.
The 2011 Display of ART
I am not even going to attempt to explain this 2011 iconic moment in pop culture history. Lady Gaga arrived in a vessel at the 2011 Grammys, forever leaving the entire red carpet with their weaves missing.
Gaga did not exit the vessel until she graced the stage to perform her No.1 song Born This Way:
It didn’t stop there
Gaga picked up three awards out of six nominations that night Best Female Vocal Performance (Bad Romance), Best Pop Vocal Album (The Fame Monster) and Best Short Form Music Video (Bad Romance).
2012 nominations dream
Gaga performed twice at the Grammy nominations concert in 2011.
She then later was moved to tears when Katy Perry announced that her album Born This Way was nominated for Album of the Year
Watch Gaga’s reaction to Katy Perry’s announcement:
Gaga picked up three nominations that night: Album of the Year (Born This Way), Best Pop Solo Performance (Yoü and I) and Best Pop Vocal Album (Born This Way).
Gaga’s triumphant return
After not gracing the red carpet at the 2012 ceremony and skipping out 2013 and 2014 altogether, Gaga returned to the Grammys with Tony Bennett by her side.

Then taking the stage to perform Cheek to Cheek with Tony:
Gaga and Tony picked up one award that night for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album (Cheek to Cheek)
Bowie Tribute
Lady Gaga announced that she’s bringing a special Intel collaboration to the Grammys screen. Gaga would team up with Intel to fuse music and technology on the Grammys stage.
After it was announced that her idol David Bowie had passed, Gaga immediately signed up to perform the tribute to him. She changed up her original performance concept and incorporated the Bowie tribute into it.
Gaga graced the red carpet with a Brandon Maxwell, Bowie-inspired look:
And then took to the stage to perform the explosive tribute:
Gaga x Metallica
After finishing up the Superbowl, Gaga teamed up with Metallica to put on a rock performance of their latest single Moth in the Flame.
